Who We Are

The Donovan Family — family travel, thoughtfully planned and joyfully lived.

We’re the Donovan family — five travelers with one shared obsession: collecting meaningful moments around the world.

We didn’t stop traveling when we had kids — we brought them along. From chasing waterfalls in Hawaiian to hiking glaciers in Alaska to wandering Italy’s cobblestone streets and reconnecting with our roots in Germany, travel has become the way we learn, connect, and grow together.

Not every trip is seamless (someone always forgets sunscreen, and the window-seat debate is practically tradition), but that’s part of the magic. We believe family travel doesn’t have to be perfect to be unforgettable — it just has to be intentional.

Meet the Tribe

Five travelers. Five personalities. One travel tribe.

Heidi

Logistics Officer

Hi, I’m Heidi — clinical psychologist turned travel storyteller. By day, I help people find their inner calm; by weekend (or whenever wanderlust calls), I’m chasing mine — usually somewhere outdoors with my husband and our three kids in tow.

There’s nothing quite like watching the world unfold through your children’s eyes — whether it’s their first bite of street food, a muddy hike gone sideways, or standing slack-jawed at a view no textbook could do justice. I’ve spent over twenty years plotting our family adventures, and we’re thrilled to share the journeys, misadventures, and hard-earned travel hacks with you.

Bryan

Resident Historian

I’m Bryan — retired Marine Corps pilot, golf addict, and a proud member of the Buffalo Bills mafia. During my years in the military, I crisscrossed the globe, but nothing compares to the adventures I share with my family.

These days, my cockpit sometimes looks like a kayak in Hawaii, a paraglider over the Alps, or the family SUV packed to the roof. Every trip is filled with laughter, tall tales, and memories better than any souvenir.

Callan

Culture Curator

Hi, I’m Callan — college senior and med school applicant with a love for cultural immersion. While our travel styles don’t always match (parents = itinerary planners, me = go with the flow), I’ve learned that travel is more than stamps in a passport — it’s a way to learn and see the world through new eyes.

My summer research abroad in England gave me even deeper appreciation for global perspectives, and I’m excited to share those insights (and stories) with you.

Jake

Adventure Engineer

Hey, I’m Jake — college sophomore, business major, health enthusiast, and founder of my college weightlifting team. When I’m not in class or lifting, you’ll find me exploring trips of my own — from Phillies games to cliff diving in Puerto Rico.

Travel motivates me to chase unique experiences, and I can’t wait to share the chaos, the laughs, and the once-in-a-lifetime moments with you.

Max

Relaxation Specialist

Hey, I’m Max — high school junior, dual-enrolled college student, and proud weightlifting and racket sports fan. Rainy days don’t slow me down — I’ll be mastering ping pong, juggling, or plotting our next adventure.

I’ve been globe-trotting since day one, and my favorite travel lessons come from moments like tubing snowy slopes, reeling in halibut in Alaska, and careening down an Alpine coaster in Germany. These aren’t just trips — they’re memories that stick with you.

Our Philosophy.

Travel isn’t just about the destinations — it’s about the journey, the laughter, and the stories we collect along the way. We aim to make family travel fun, educational, and memorable for everyone. And yes, sometimes we forget sunscreen, argue over seats, or misplace passports — but that’s all part of the adventure.
